THE FIRST STEP

The best way to start is to speak either on the phone or on a video call to see if Nutritional Therapy and Potts Health is right for you. Please get in touch to book a free 15-minute discovery call when we will chat about your concerns and goals.

INITIAL CONSULTATION

Once you have booked your initial consultation, I will send you a health questionnaire and food diary to complete at least 48 hours before your first consultation. These form the basis for our discussions and so the more detail you can give, the quicker we can start work.

Your first consultation lasts up to 90 minutes during which we will review your questionnaire and any other information you are able to share; discuss what may be contributing to your symptoms and agree on a practical, achievable health plan in line with your goals.

FUNCTIONAL TESTING

Being in control of your health starts with knowing how your body works. Testing helps determine if you're absorbing and using nutrients properly, if you're naturally deficient in crucial nutrients, or if your body is under more strain than you realize.

I use advanced functional and genetic testing from leading laboratories worldwide to analyse biochemical markers to detect underlying health conditions before they fully develop or monitor the progression of any existing health issues.

These tests include ….

·      Cardiovascular and metabolic health: includes cholesterol, triglyceride, insulin, glucose, HbA1c

·      Comprehensive digestive stool analysis: including the gut microbiome with yeast, bacteria and parasite profiles as well as digestive and inflammatory markers

·      Food allergy and intolerance testing: including food and environmental allergens

·      Full thyroid screen: to include TSH, T4, T3, Reverse T3 and thyroid antibodies

·      Genetic testing: see nutrigenomics (link)

·      Hormone assessment: including male and female hormones and stress profile

·      Immune function screen: including histamine intolerance, chronic inflammation and oxidative stress markers

·      Neurotransmitter and brain health: including dopamine, serotonin, GABA, glutamate

·      Nutrient status: including vitamin and mineral profiles as well as antioxidant and essential fatty acid status

·      Toxin analysis: including heavy metals, pesticides, plastics & chemicals and mould

Tests are optional and recommended only if they will inform your health plan effectively. I also review previous test results and medical records to build your profile, ensuring a tailored and through approach to your wellness.

NUTRIGENOMIC TESTING

Your genetic makeup plays a critical role in how your body absorbs and utilizes nutrients, influencing key aspects of your health such as energy levels, metabolism, hormone balance, and emotional well-being. Since everyone has unique genetic variations, understanding these can help uncover potential health risks early and guide highly personalised nutrition and wellness strategies.

I leverage Lifecode Gx®, a leader in advanced genetic testing backed by robust research, to provide detailed insights into areas such as nervous system function, hormone regulation, and detoxification capacity. These insights empower you to make informed health decisions and adopt a preventative, individualised approach to optimising your wellness.

SUPPLEMENTS

A balanced, nutrient-rich wholefood diet is the cornerstone of good health. It supports your body's natural functions and creates a solid foundation for wellness. However, dietary solutions are not always enough. Nutritional requirements can change over time due to factors like age, stress, lifestyle, and the season, certain life situations or health conditions may deplete your body's resources. In some cases, high-quality supplements can be beneficial to address specific nutritional gaps.

I can help you navigate an often overwhelming supplement industry and help you identify high quality and effective supplements tailored to your unique needs, handpicked for its bioavailability so your body can absorb and utilize the nutrients effectively.
